Detroit awards first recreational cannabis dispensary license

Doghouse Farms Detroit

Doghouse Farms DetroitWWJ Newsradio reports that the City of Detroit has awarded its very first license for a recreational marijuana shop:

Soon after marijuana businesses became legal in Michigan in 2019, Doghouse Farms spent roughly $4 million to open its Detroit facility in hopes that the city would approve recreational sales.

However, that didn’t happen. Crains Detroit says Doghouse has operated as a medical operation for the past 15 months, waiting for City Council to approve rules for recreational marijuana businesses in its jurisdiction.

More than two years later, Doghouse has become the first recreational marijuana shop in Detroit.

The Doghouse brand was founded in Oregon in 2005 and has since expanded to Washington state and Michigan.

Check them out at Doghouse420.com. We’ll for sure be adding them to our Detroit dispo map as soon as they open for Rec!!
