Five Things You Need to Know about Michigan Cannabis

Five Things You Need to Know About Winewood Organics

In the latest Five Things You Need to Know about Michigan Cannabis we talk with Marcus Huber of Ann Arbor provisioning center & marijuana microbusiness Winewood Organics.

1

Tell us the basic information about your business.

Eric, the owner & grower, has been a Caregiver in Michigan for about 7-8 years and for the past four years at 2394 Winewood Ave, Ann Arbor providing his patients with the medicine they need. During this time we were applying for the Cannabis Microbusiness License, and in September we were finally able to open and now operate a fully vertically integrated Cannabis Microbusiness.

2

Why did you get into the cannabis business?

Eric’s partner has a medical condition. After failed attempts at treating her with regular western medicine – the side effects were too severe for her – she gave Medical Cannabis a try. This helped her a lot more and so Eric started growing. First for her and then later through state programs as a Caregiver for other patients as well.

Going into the Cannabis Microbusiness License was a natural step for a Caregiver. Now we can provide Caregiver quality to a larger number of customers and don’t have to go through third party middlemen like dispensaries.

What makes your business unique or sets it apart?

The most unique selling point is that we have a vertically integrated business all in one place. We grow all of our own flower, extract all of our own concentrates and sell everything on site. And only on site. We grow in organic living soil without any chemicals. Eric has used these past years as Caregiver to continually improve his growing skills which is easily noticeable in the look, flavor and smell of our flower.

Tell us about your favorite cannabis product and/or best seller.

For Flower it has to be the Orange Push Pop. I specifically like the orange-y creamy terpene profile. If I need an energizing sativa, I’ll go for Erics Durban Poison all day. If I’d have to choose from our concentrates I probably would go with the Ice Cream Cake Hash Rosin. Our Lemon Slushee Sauce and Sugar Wax have been popular as well with the dab community.

What are your favorite elevated activities in your area?

Tubing down Huron River, hiking some of the many trails around here and outdoor activities in general are always a good time after a nice sativa. Ann Arbor has many cool neighborhoods and parks to explore anytime of the year. We have several microbreweries close by and plenty of nice restaurants and bars.
