Michigan 420 Information
April 20th aka “420” has long been a cannabis holiday. While you may think you know the reason (and no, not a police scanner code or the number of chemicals in cannabis or even numerology based on Bob Dylan’s “Everyone Must Get Stoned”. As Mother Jones relates, 420 traces its roots to some Marin County students with a penchant for punctuality.
Of course the biggest highlight this year is that Michigan voters passed the Marijuana Legalization Act (Proposal 1) last November by a 56-44% margin. Despite that support, a host of Michigan communities have rejected recreational cannabis.

Michigan 420 Events
420 Canna Expo is free to all (no card required) and takes place on 4/20 at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant. The Expo will offer stimulating and comprehensive presentations that are up to minute on health, science, horticulture, business growth and complex laws around cannabis in Michigan along with a wide range as well as a wide range of vendors.
The Bangor 420 Festival is the brand new annual celebration of the Michigan cannabis industry hosted by The Green Door Dispensary, PM Growers, The City of Bangor, and many other local Bangor businesses.
Kushstock Michigan takes place from noon – 10 PM as also Saturday (April 20) and is free to attend for 21 & up with just an ID and 18-20 are admitted with a medical card. In addition to a bunch of vendors, the event includes free water, live art & glassblowing, a “skaters paradise” so I guess bring your board, Ring of Fire Wrestling & live music including Mitch Ryder.
